Yaa, the Adowa dancer

The tune of Adowa
Drives Yaa to frenzy,
Her legs alternate–
they close,
they cross,
they open,
they part.
Oh, what a dancer,
The dancer of Adowa.
Her trunk goes–
to the left,
to the right,
to the front,
to the back.
Oh, what a dancer,
The dancer of Adowa.
Her hand move–
Backward,
forward,
upward,
downward.
Oh, what a dancer,
The dancer of Adowa.
Her head turns–
to the east,
to the west,
to the north,
to the south.
Oh, what a dancer,
The dancer of Adowa.

Adowa is the name of a Ghanaian dance…
